How To Add Your Classified Or Adoption Listing

Follow these simple instructions on how to add a classified or adoption listing to post your advertisement for free on PetStew.com.
  1. Login With Your PetStew.com User Account

    In order to create a free classified or adoption ad, you must be logged in to your user account. If you don't have one yet, you can sign up for one here, otherwise you can login here.
  2. Find the "Add New Adoption or Classified Listing" Link

    From the User Profile screen, locate the "Tools" section on the right side. Click the link for "Add New Adoption or Classified Listing".
  3. Fill In the Pet's Information

    Now complete the questionnaire filling in all the fields for your listing. Any optional information is marked as such, but the more detail you provide the more useful your ad will be to its viewers, so we recommend you don't leave anything blank and provide as much detail as possible. There are 5 steps, and the information is saved between each one. You can navigate forwards or backwards and update the information at any time.
  4. Preview Your Listing

    Once all required fields are completed, preview your classified or adoption listing. You may also preview in between steps if you'd like to check your progress. From the preview screen click the "Edit Breeder" button to return and make changes to your listing.
  5. Publishing Your Listing

    There is a "Publish Ad" button on the top right of the preview screen. If you've completed all required fields this button will be green. Click this "Publish Ad" button and your listing is now available to the public. If the "Publish Ad" button appears grey, it means your listing is not yet ready to be published. Below the button a message will appear in orange telling you what required information is missing. Return to the edit screen by clicking "Edit Listing" and update this information. When all fields are completed and you're ready to publish the "Publish Ad" button will appear green.
  6. Updating Your Listing

    From your User Profile, find your listing towards the bottom. Click the title to visit the detail page for the listing. Once on the detail page, find and click the green button near the top that says "Edit Listing". You will now return to the edit listing wizard where you can update your information.
  7. Temporarily Removing Your Listing

    If you decide your listing is not ready, you may revert it to a draft state. From your User Profile, find your listing towards the bottom. Once on your listing detail page, a "Revert Ad To Draft Mode" button will appear. Click this button and your ad is no longer visible to the public.
  8. Deleting Your Listing

    From your User Profile, find your listing towards the bottom. Click the title to visit the detail page for the listing. Once on the detail page, find the red button near the top that says "Delete". When you click this a message will pop up warning you that a delete cannot be undone. If you're sure you want to delete your listing confirm the message and your listing is now permanently deleted.
  9. How Long Do Classified & Adoption Ads Last?

    Listings will last 1 month before they expire. If you decide to you can either revert to draft mode or delete the listing prior to this. If you would like to extend your listing you need to update it or click the extend link next to the expiration date on your User Profile page.
